Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

Although Holly had just turned 21 and I was turning 20, in true granny style we decided to head to Kew Gardens for our traditional Birthday day out. Neither of us really know why walking around giant greenhouses and having cream teas appealed to us so much, but it's something we'd been wanting to do for so long, and I have to say the day didn't disappoint.

We spend the day wandering around the grounds (I say walk but the day after felt like we'd been on a hike! We managed to walk almost 8km!) drinking plenty of coffee (as usual) and eating scones. We caught up and chatted all day while Holly took some lovely blog photos for me. So here is a little photo post from the snaps taken throughout the day.

I would definitely recommend Kew Gardens to anyone who will enjoy a relaxing day out, with plenty of walking and wandering. Although the tickets are a little expensive per person, and parking for the day isn't cheap either, the work and maintenance that must go into keeping this beautiful 300 acres of nature in amongst the rush of London is unimaginable.

The Gardens are also great for kids, with lots of infographics, activities and a large play area, but most of all, it's a wonderful place to take photos. Let me know if you've been to Kew Gardens before, and what did you think of it?
